Arthur Van de Velde

Hi, I'm Arthur.

I'm a Salesforce consultant in Geneva, and I'm looking for my next job.

I don't assume I'm the smartest person in the room, but I'm one of the most reliable. Skills can be learned and experience comes with time. Ownership is harder to teach. If something has my name on it, it gets done properly, and I stay with it until it works. That's what I bring to a team.

What I do

I learn how a team works, and help it work better.

I start by understanding how a team or company really works: I talk to the people involved, follow the process step by step and look at where time gets lost. Then I look for ways to improve it, and I see it through: from that research to the design and the build, and after go-live the follow-up and level 3 support, so I can see whether it really helped.

One example. At one client, support cases were handed out without looking at who was best placed to answer them. Some people ended up with questions they couldn't really handle and a growing pile, while others had room to spare.

I redesigned the assignment in Salesforce so each case goes to someone with the right skill and the least work waiting. Below is a made-up team of four, much simpler than the real one. It starts the old way. Watch Marco's queue, then switch it over.

A striped bar means the agent is working on something outside their skills, which takes about two and a half times longer.

Things I made on my own

Two products I built and run myself.

Both started as small ideas and turned into real things people use. I built them with Claude Code as a daily coding partner, which is also how I work now.

Sunset Atlas

A map of the best places in Europe to watch the sunset. For every spot it looks at the terrain, how open the horizon is and the weather forecast, and gives it a score.

Behind it is a Python pipeline that crunches satellite elevation and land cover data, a React map, and apps for iPhone and Android. The forecast refreshes itself every day.

In the news for the August 2026 eclipse: Het Nieuwsblad, HLN, GVA, Tribune de Genève, Le Nouvelliste, Diario de León and Anzeiger von Saanen.

↑ The sky at the top of this page uses the same sun maths: the real position of the sun over Geneva, right now or at any time you drag it to.

Used by a Swiss university lab

Phagocytosis Analyzer

Researchers film immune cells under a microscope and count the moments when a cell swallows a bacterium. They did it by hand, frame by frame. My app does it for them and hands back an Excel file with every event.

It runs a deep learning model (Cellpose) to find the cells, tracks them through the film, and is checked against a reference set before every release. It ships as a signed Mac app with its own licence server.
